Non-woven industry development prospects

Non-woven fabric, also called "non-woven fabric", is composed of oriented or random fibers. It is a kind of fabric that can be formed without spinning and weaving. It is also a new type of fiber product made from high polymer chips, short fibers or filaments through various web forming methods and consolidation techniques.

China's economy has developed rapidly, and residents' incomes have continued to increase. The demand for the nonwovens industry has not yet been fully released. For example, the market for sanitary napkins and baby diapers is very broad. The annual demand is hundreds of thousands of tons. The second-child policy is open and the demand is soaring. Medical care is gradually developing, and China's population is aging. Nonwovens are also growing rapidly in medical care. In industry and engineering, the market for hot rolled cloth, SMS cloth and airlaid cloth, filter material, insulating cloth, geotextile and medical cloth is very large, and it will be bigger and bigger.

Although the average Chinese consumer is still unfamiliar with the concept of non-woven fabrics, it has already been applied to all aspects of people's lives because of its short process flow, fast production rate, high output, and low cost. According to statistics, China's non-woven fabric output in 2018 reached 3.939 million tons, a year-on-year increase of 1.3%.In the first half of 2019, China's cloth production reached 22.8 billion meters, a cumulative decline of 0.1%.

In addition, China's non-woven technology is still in the stage of introducing and catching up with international advanced technology, which allows domestic non-woven technology and equipment to be referenced by international advanced processes and equipment, and continuously improved at a higher rate. The improvement of non-woven fabric technology has led to the improvement of product performance, making it able to meet the needs of more and more fields in terms of quality and functionality, thereby further expanding the downstream market and promoting the overall industry upgrade.
